Broadband advice for every UK postcode, one phone call away.
Switching provider, moving house, or fed up with a connection that keeps dropping out — our advisers compare fibre and full fibre deals for your exact address and talk you through what actually works. No jargon, no obligation.
Real advice, not a price filter.
Choosing a broadband package shouldn't mean scrolling through a dozen tabs and guessing which numbers actually matter. UK Broadband is a telephone advisory service: you call, tell us your postcode and what you actually do online, and one of our advisers lines up the packages available at your address, side by side, in plain language.
We're not tied to a single network, so the advice is about what suits your household, not a quota. If you work from home and need a dependable upload speed for video calls, we'll say so. If you mostly stream in the evening and don't want to pay for capacity you'll never use, we'll say that too. Every call ends with a clear next step: a specific package, a realistic install date, and a plain understanding of what happens if anything goes wrong after the engineer leaves. No account is opened and no contract is signed without you asking us to.
How switching works
Four steps, most of it done for you on the call.
Call and share your postcode
Ring 0333 355 7236 and tell an adviser where you live and roughly how many people use the internet in your home. We pull up what's actually available on your street, not just what's advertised nationally.
We compare deals for your address
You'll hear real speed ranges, real monthly prices, and how long each contract ties you in for. We flag any set-up costs or equipment you'll need upfront, so there's nothing waiting in the small print.
Book an install slot
Once you've chosen, we book the engineer visit for a day that works for you and send confirmation by text. Most fibre installs take under two hours.
Get connected and settled in
On install day, keep your old service running until the new one's confirmed working. If your speed doesn't match what was promised, call us back and we'll chase it with the provider on your behalf.
Coverage changes street by street
Broadband infrastructure varies a lot within the same town, which is why postcode-level checking matters more than a national map.
Some addresses can already take full fibre straight to the door; others are still served over older cabling where realistic speeds are lower, whatever a coverage map suggests. Our advisers check what's actually installed near your address, not just what's technically "planned", and explain the difference between the fibre types you'll hear mentioned during the call.
If full fibre isn't live on your street yet, we'll tell you honestly and suggest the fastest option that is, rather than leaving you waiting on a package you can't have. Moving house soon? We can check coverage at your new address in the same call.
What the packages usually look like
Broadband deals generally sit in three bands. None of these figures are a quote for your address — an adviser will confirm exact pricing and speed once they know your postcode.
| Package | Typical speed | Best for | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Broadband | 10–17 Mbps | Light browsing, email, one or two devices | £22/month |
| Fibre Broadband | 35–100 Mbps | Streaming, gaming, working from home | £27/month |
| Full Fibre | 150–900+ Mbps | Multiple heavy users, smart homes, large households | £32/month |
I called expecting a sales pitch and got someone who told me not to bother upgrading yet. Six months later, when full fibre reached our street, they rang me back. — feedback from a caller in Leeds
Why call instead of comparing online
Comparison websites are built to show you a price, not to ask what you actually need. A ten-minute phone call catches the things a filter can't.
Your street, not the average
We check whether your street can genuinely support the speed being advertised, rather than repeating a national figure.
No quota to hit
Advisers aren't reading from a script tied to one provider's targets, so recommendations are about your household, not a sales board.
A second opinion, free
Already been quoted online? A quick call to sanity-check it costs nothing and can save a wrong contract.
Common questions
No. Tell us your postcode and what you use the internet for, and we'll talk you through what's realistically available before you decide anything.
The call itself is free from most UK landlines and mobiles — check with your own phone provider if you're on an unusual tariff. There's no charge for the advice.
Yes. We can check coverage and set up a switch or new connection to line up with your move date, so you're not left without broadband for weeks.
Call us back with your account details and we'll raise it with the provider on your behalf, including asking about the exit terms if it can't be fixed.
Yes — our advisers check availability across all four nations. Rural coverage varies more than in cities, so it's worth calling even if a website shows nothing available.
Contract lengths vary by package. We'll always tell you the length before you agree to anything, along with what happens if you need to leave early.
